About page

Hello my name is Ali and welcome to Less Simple Carbs recipe blog.
I prefer to prepare meals with whole grains, whole wheat, alternative natural sweeteners, reduce sugars and reduce white flours.

It is very valuable to prepare your own meals because you get to control the amounts of spices and sweets and other ingredients to put in your food. Home cooked meals are healthier than eating out. I am excited to share my recipes using better ingredients.
Back in 2010 I started to explore more about food and learned the difference between simple carbs and complex carbs. Simple carbs are ingredients such as sugar, white flour, etc. Simple carbohydrates are digested faster, causes quick rise in blood sugar, and makes you feel hungry sooner.
Complex carbs are whole grains, whole wheat, peas, beans and vegetables. Complex carbohydrates are digested much more slowly, provides consistent energy and makes you feel full longer.
Since then I have cooked with more of complex carbs and reduced my simple carbs.

Please write to me and share your feelings of what more kinds of recipes you would like to see.
