Basmati Brown Rice Stuffing (Stove Top)

I made this Basmati Brown Rice Stuffing inside the turkey the first time I made it. But then decided to make it completely separate in order to make more. This is made with turkey drippings and it enhances the flavors, Basmati brown rice doesn’t take too long to cook. While the rice is cooking, make the onion carrot sauté mixture. This Basmati Brown Rice Stuffing (stove tope) recipe is so yummy!

Ingredients:

2 cups brown basmati rice

3 cups water

½ – 1 cup turkey drippings

Salt

Pepper

3-4 TBSP vegetable cooking oil

1 medium onion, diced

2 carrots, grated

How to make Basmati Brown Rice Stuffing:

  1. In a pot add water and ¼ TSP salt and bring it to a boil, add the basmati rice and turkey drippings and let it simmer on low for about 50 minutes until rice is cooked through. 

2. Meanwhile, warm pan on medium heat and add cooking oil, then add diced onion and carrots and sauté until almost translucent. Add more oil if it seems dry. Add salt and pepper and mix. Set aside. 

3. When done add the onion carrot sauté mixture into the rice and mix well. Let it stand for a few minutes and enjoy!
