Italian Garlic Pizza Sauce

Mmm, Italian Garlic Pizza Sauce. This recipe is so easy and delicious. It’s cheaper to make your own, and it’s fresh. I make this pizza sauce periodically because I like making my own pizzas. I plan to use this for my Easy Lavash Pizza Recipe.

According to healthline.com, the active compounds in garlic can reduce blood pressure. And garlic improves cholesterol levels, which may lower the risk of heart disease. Next, tomatoes are also an excellent source vitamin C, biotin, molybdenum and vitamin K. They are also a very good source of copper, potassium, manganese, dietary fiber, vitamin A (in the form of beta-carotene), vitamin B6, folate, niacin, vitamin E and phosphorus (whfoods.com). And, the phytochemicals in onions along with their vitamin C help improve immunity amongst other benefits (care2.com).

Ingredients:

3 TBSP olive oil

1 TSP Salt

1 medium onion

7 garlic cloves, crushed or grated

1 TBSP McCormick Italian spice mix

Ground black pepper

28 OZ of tomato sauce

28 OZ of diced tomatoes

How to make Italian Garlic Pizza Sauce:

In a pan turn to medium and add 3 TBSP olive oil, 1 TSP Salt and 1 diced onion and sauté for 5 – 7 minutes until the onions are softened and stirring every 30 seconds or a minute to prevent burning.

Next add 7 garlic cloves, crushed or grated, 2 TBSP McCormick Italian spice mix and ground black pepper and sauté and stir for 1 min.

Then add 28 OZ of tomato sauce and 28 OZ of diced tomatoes and let it simmer for 7 – 10 minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes and it will be ready for use as pizza sauce. Enjoy!

In a pan turn to medium and add olive oil, Salt and onion and sauté for 5 – 7 minutes or until the onions are softened and stirring every 30 seconds or a minute to prevent burning. Next add garlic cloves, crushed or grated, McCormick Italian spice mix and ground black pepper and sauté and stir for 1 min. Then add tomato sauce and diced tomatoes and let it simmer for 7 – 10 minutes. Let it stand for 5 minutes and it will be ready for use as pizza sauce. Enjoy!

Notes

For storing the sauce, wipe the mason jar and lid with vinegar and add in the sauce. Should keep in the fridge for 2 – 3 weeks. Hint, everytime the tomato sauce gets on the edges, be sure to wipe it with a clean napkin to prolong the life of the sauce.
